The principle is simple: each department of a store is equipped with a bar code reader. When a customer wants to call a sales assistant for advice, they scan a bar code (loyalty card, ticket, item, etc.) on the WelcomePass™. A first scan calls the appropriate sales assistant who is notified immediately. A second scan indicates the waiting time or allows the department to be changed.
