BIA in Niger

Founded in 1944, Banque Internationale pour l’Afrique au Niger (BIA Niger) is the country’s oldest bank. A subsidiary of the pan-African Banque Centrale Populaire (BCP) group, it ranks third among Nigerien banks by deposit market share. It operates through a network of 17 branches across Niger.

A queue management solution

In a bank branch, waiting quickly raises questions: where do I go, who’s next, and how much longer will it take? To answer them, our partner E-Corporation installed a queue management solution in one of BIA Niger’s branches:

  • On arrival: at the Keo kiosk, available in French and English, customers choose from 6 reasons for their visit: withdrawal/deposit, currency exchange, customer support, checkbook pickup, card pickup and BIA Cash. They then receive their ticket.
  • While waiting: queues are organized by reason for visit. Customers follow the calls to the counters on 2 screens, which also display the bank’s own communications.

The result: better-organized customer reception, customers taken care of from the moment they arrive, and more efficient teams.

The benefits

For customers, the wait becomes less stressful: they can follow its progress, and the screens provide useful information.
At the counter, staff call the next customer without having to check whose turn it is. What’s more, the bank now has decision-making statistics to manage its customer reception.
