The ophthalmic hospital Jules-Gonin installed in Lausanne is a hospital of excellence offering a know-how and unique expertise in the area of the ophthalmology. In order to welcome patients in the best conditions throughout the year, and during the day because emergencies are open 24\/7, we have, with our Swiss partner Ecran Double, created an installation up to the issues.<\/p>\n\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n<\/section>\n\n\n

The first challenge wad to work with the ergonomist of the hospital to create a configuration that is compatible with the visual disabilities of the patients who come to this hospital. Thus, all the screens (kiosk, display) respect strict instructions regarding the contrast and the size to facilitate the accessibility.<\/p>\n\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n<\/section>\n\n\n

The patient journey starts with 2 Keo\u2122 kiosks that allow to distribute a ticket according to the purpose of the visit: consultation or emergency.<\/p>\n

For the consultation, the patient is simply called by the reception counter with his number to be directed to the planned doctor.<\/p>\n\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n<\/section>\n\n\n\n

For an emergency, the patient is called by a nurse a first time who directs him in a queue, out of 3 available, depending on the degree of emergency. She also matches the ticket number with a patient code (the 2 first letters of the last name and first name). This code is displayed on video screens in the waiting room. They allow to see the 3 queues and the position of everyone in the running order. Then, the doctor taking care of the emergency calls the next one with his code.<\/p>\n\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n<\/section>\n\n\n\n

The last feature of this installation is 2 LCD Display that displays in real time the number of patients waiting in each queue (consultation and emergency). They make a sound when a patient takes a ticket that informs the staff of the presence of a patient, particularly at night when there is not always someone at the reception.<\/p>\n\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n<\/section>\n\n\n
